About this coffee

A honey processed Costa Rican, with big citrus and chocolate notes.

Hacienda Sonora sits at the foot of Volcan Poas, the volcano that dominates the skyline of Costa Rica’s Central Valley region. It is run by the father and son team of Diego and Alberto Guardia. The farm’s history stretches back well over a century when it began life planted in sugar cane, and the original sugar mill still stands intact. The average elevation on the farm is 1200m, although their coffee cups as though it is grown a little higher – testament to their skill in post-harvest practices.

They grow 7 different varietals over about 45 ha of shaded land with another 20 ha of sugar cane and over 30 ha of protected native forest.
