About this coffee
One of the worlds notoriously rare coffee treats.
Mocha is a port city on the Red Sea coast of Yemen. Its origins have little to do with chocolate and are more closely tied to Mocha's rich history as a trading port throughout the 16th and 17th century.
Yemen is a unique origin whose coffee has intrigued us whenever we have been able to secure some of their notoriously rare production. Its origins lie across the gulf in the mountains of Ethiopia which is why it shares similar flavour characteristics to some Ethiopian naturally processed coffees.
This coffee is cultivated in stone terraces high in the mountainous growing regions and is tended by small holders who sell their dried cherries to exporters.
